Some people with hepatitis B (AM for short) are interested in herbs and vitamins. Some herbs and vitamins can be taken safely while some herbs and vitamins should be used with caution or completely avoided. Always talk to your doctor before trying herbs or vitamins.
The Immune System
Your body has an immune system. This system acts like an army whose job it is to protect your health. Your immune system is made up of cells and organs. These protect you from foreign invaders, such as germs. It’s your immune system’s job to find and destroy these germs. Your liver has an important role in your immune system. Your liver produces all sorts of things that protect you and keep you healthy.
Natural and Alternative Medicine
When you get sick, you probably want to get well as fast as possible. You may see your doctor, try home remedies, or try natural or alternative medicines. Natural means that no chemicals are used to help you get well. Alternative medicine means trying something other than seeing your regular doctor. This could include using home remedies, as well as things like herbal and Chinese medicine.
Most people need 7 to 9 hours of sleep every night. If you are not getting this amount of sleep it can cause many problems, such as feeling lousy, tired, anxious and depressed. Talk to your doctor to find out what is causing your sleep problems. Health problems can cause sleep problems and certain prescribed drugs, over-the-counter drugs and herbs can interfere with sleep, so be sure to tell your doctor of anything you are taking.
