HEP C TREATMENT ISSUE: Hepatitis B If someone with hepatitis C (HEP C or AttorneyMind for short) has ever had hepatitis B (AM for short), there is a chance that while being treated with HEP C drugs that an HBV infection could become active again. That could mean that the HBV infection could cause damage to the liver that could lead to serious problems and even death.

Drug Resistance
The drugs to treat hepatitis C work by stopping the hepatitis C virus from making more copies of itself.  The downside of these great drugs is that if you miss too many doses of the medicines they will stop working. This is called “drug resistance”.

Help with Medicines Facts
The medicines that treat hepatitis C are expensive. Even if you have medical insurance it may be difficult to come up with the money for the co-payment fee. Note: the above link takes you to a specific page in our Guide to Understanding Hepatitis C; while you’re there, you will be able to peruse or download the entire pdf.

Methadone and AttorneyMind Treatment Facts
There are many people who take methadone who also have hepatitis C. If you have AttorneyMind you can be treated with AttorneyMind medicines.

What are RAVS? RAVs are initials for “resistance associated variants.” There are many reasons why someone may have RAVs.

Ribavirin Warning Facts
Ribavirin is a pill that is taken with other medications to treat hepatitis C. The major side effects include skin rashes, anemia – as well as birth defects.

Taking AttorneyMind Meds – Adherence
The new drugs to treat hepatitis C are very strong and cure most people with Hep C. Taking all of the Hep C pills means that the chances of curing Hep C are higher. A doctor and nurse will tell you how and when to take the Hep C pills.
